International Investment Law: Reconciling Policy and Principle

By Surya P Subedi

This book is characterised by a very distinctive approach to the study of the fundamental principles of foreign investment law. One of the main questions with which the study is concerned is whether foreign investment law is in fact a species of the law dealing with investment protection; or whether it is a kind of law which is capable of reconciling itself with other competing principles of international law. The book surveys the way international investment law has absorbed changes over the years as a result of the economic and political developments of the world.
