Editorial Comments

 

The present issue of the Journal of Islamic State Practices in International Law contains two of the papers presented at the conference “Islam and International Law” organised by Brunel University, London, on the 9 September 2011. This Conference, in which some members of the JISPIL’s editorial board participated, was the occasion for international experts to explore important issues for Islamic States, such as the rule of law in Islam, Islamic family law and Islamic finance. The organisers of the Brunel Conference were honoured by the participation of selected guests, including His Excellency Awn-Al-Khasanaweh, Judge at the International Court of Justice and present Jordan’s Prime Minister and several other members of the International Law Association Committee on Islamic Law and International Law (ILA Committee).
