International Investment Law: National, Regional and Global perspectives offers a comprehensive analysis of the principles and practice of international investment law and policy. The book has a number of strengths. It adopts a comparative approach to analyse the interplay between the interests of the home state, the host state and foreign investors. In so doing, Ajibo provides a good set of examples from diverse domestic jurisdictions and regional agreements as well as global perspectives on foreign investment and business practices. It focusses mostly on the perspective of host states, traditionally developing countries. More specifically, the book offers a detailed account of foreign investment and business regulations in Nigeria with a particular focus on natural resources – mainly the gas and oil sector. The approach taken by Ajibo contributes to the topic by providing an integrated approach that includes environmental and labour concerns, corporate social responsibility and the business and human rights agenda. This work will be of interest to academics, students, researchers and practitioners.
