Communication Flows in International Economic Law

At the 5th International Conference on ‘New Haven and other Jurisprudential Perspectives on Conflict Resolution and Current Legal Problems’ held at City University of Hong Kong between 17-18th September 2013 in Hong Kong, Professor Michael Reisman explained that the New Haven approach required adjudicators in engaging in the task of adjudication to apply rules and a textual approach to the interpretation and application of the law; and that policy considerations only factored in when relevant decision makers were engaging in the process of policy formulation when for example the task performed by the relevant decision maker involved law reform as a Law Commissioner.
