Codifying Fundamental Principles of International Economic Law?
Asif H. Qureshi

ABSTRACT: This article advocates the codification of fundamental principles of International Economic Law. This stance is set against the background of clarifications as to what is meant by fundamental principles; the historical endeavours at classifying these; and the sources of international law wherein the principles may be set. The author highlights the potential impact of the vast array of international agreements and State practice that impact on the development of Customary International Law and General Principles of Law as sources of law. This exposition is set against the background of a discussion on the need for such a process of codification.
