M B A Ismail

There have been general arguments regarding the compatibility between Islamic siyar (Islamic international law) and conventional international law, and these arguments have generated some scholarly endeavours touching on the comparative evaluation of various aspects of Islamic international law and modern international law such as international human rights law and international law of armed conflict. Therefore, this article seeks to examine the justifications and the principles of diplomatic immunity under Islamic law with a view to confirming whether they are compatible with the principles of international diplomatic law.
