On 21 September 2017, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the European Union and Canada provisionally entered into force after its signature in October 2016. The CETA is since provisionally applied with one significant exception, the investment chapter. It will only enter into force fully and definitively, however, when all EU Member States have ratified the agreement. Until then we must wait to see practical legal consequences of this chapter. Still, this situation does not hinder to study and analyse content of investment provisions in the CETA what is actually the main purpose of this volume, edited by Makane Moïse Mbengue and Stefanie Schacherer.
