Communication Flows in International Economic Law: September 2017

There is much ado of late about China’s grand initiative known as Belt and Road in particular the Pakistan aspect of this project viz., the China/Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The viability and sustainability of this project in all the countries it traverses including Pakistan depends not just on State-State relations but also on people to people relations. Certainly, in the case of Pakistan China and Pakistan state to state relations have been described variously as an ‘all weather friendship’. However, this all-weather relationship must also be at the level of people to people which at present it is not entirely so. How then can China embrace the people of Pakistan? Briefly here there are two broad strands in a strategy to win the Pakistani people.
