Cultural Products and the World Trade Organization.
Tania Voon. Cambridge University Press, 2007. 306 pp hc.60.00
Tania Voon has undertaken an ambitious study of the role of cultural preservation as a potential justification for trade restrictive measures that would otherwise represent violations of World Trade Organization (WTO) agreements. Her book criticizes the inadequate treatment of cultural products primarily through reference to several WTO instruments as well as United Nations treaties and various regional initiatives. Voons exhaustive research is impressive and adds much weight to her carefully constructed arguments.
