A PARADIGM SHIFT IN GLOBAL ANTI- CORRUPTION STRATEGIES

Corruption exists in almost all societies and no society is free from it. However, it is endemic in some countries at all levels. This article argues is that good governance has been identified as a contributing factor in the process of development for more than last two decades but studies show that corruption hampers the process of good governance which ultimately turns to underdevelopment. Since 1990s, international organizations have started paying attention to the menace of corruption and have initiated a major shift in their policies which was previously ignored. However, the pioneering role of US cannot be ignored for anti-corruption movements at national and international levels.
