JPIL Vol 8 Issue 1/2 2017 - Editorial
From the Editorial Desk

Volume 8, Issue 1/2 of the Journal of the Philosophy of International Law features five Articles. The first Article avers that the current configuration of power relations militates against an international order based on the territorial integrity of the Nation-State. It discusses the Schmittian concept of the Großraum, which offers an alternative to cosmopolitan universalism and the nationalistic territorial orientation. The Article concludes that it is perhaps overly optimistic to believe that an international organisation based on regional power blocks will necessarily work to reform international law and thereby serve to contain armed conflict.
